Welcome

Thanks for stopping by. This journal is meant as a way for me to work out my calling as a Pastor. Things doing always go as we think they will, but as long as we're on the journey with God, we're on the right path.

I'll post personal updates, teachings, thoughts and just what ever strikes my fancy.

It's not about religion, it's about relationship.

The english language is terrible. Well, either that or we're terrible at learning it. The above title is something we say, but the true meaning of it is often lost. Just putting it on a bumper sticker isn't going to teach anyone anything.
This morning Amanda and I prayed and read Pslams 1 over breakfast. What struck me during this short amount of time is that the relationship God wants from us is very much like the relationship I have with my wife. During my day, I often think of Amanda. We live our lives together, even when we spend half our day apart.
  • I miss her when I leave in the morning
  • I think of her during the day will call or text just to keep in touch
  • If I have to make a decision, often I will automatically consider her and her opinions
  • I know that my day begins and ends with her.

She is apart of me and my day with very little effort because our lives are lived together. This is the relationship we are to have with God. Not that we remember to pray or force ourselves to do things His way, but that we live our lives with Him.

I'm always drawn back to the point just to push church and life one notch down and if I live my life with Him, everything else falls in line.
